Teen Quest Gathering (TQG)

Year after year, the Teen Quest Gathering (TQG) continues to improve when in comes to moulding youths aged 13-19 years old. The concept of having to organise activities “for the youth, by the youth” still remains; and thus endless enjoyable sessions and interactive activities are held every weekend.

The term began with the focus on “Clearing the fog” where the committees focused on delivering programmes to introduce Buddhism to their peers. It was then followed by activities based on the Four Noble Truth and Noble Eightfold Path through Dhamma talks, team building and role plays. These activities further enhanced the understanding of Dhamma and provided hands-on practice of the application of Dhamma in our daily lives in a fun and enjoyable way.

Throughout the year, the organising committee had seen several challenges, mainly being the restriction of resources and manpower. Nevertheless, all hurdles have been gradually overcome, and instead were converted to become a platform of priceless learning and endurance for each and every striving committee member.

They have evolved from the beginners they once were, to dynamic individuals; fully taking charge of sessions, with all of them showing immense potential to become future leaders in their own special ways.

In turn, it has definitely benefited participants who come for theseweekly sessions, as new friendships were forged, old friendships rekindled and of course, an ideal environment for spiritual growth is achieved.
